5 tips to stay inspired and motivated

#013 | 5 tips to stay inspired and motivated

Nov 26, 2022

In today's issue, I'm going to share 5 tips to stay inspired and motivated.

I know it's hard.

We, the entrepreneurs, the home-business owners, the careerists, the dreamers, the doers - we all know how frustrating it can be to have such a crisp, clear goal, a strategy to achieve it but to be held back by something, whether it's money, time, capability or the fact that you're one person with only 24 hours in each day is not enough.

We know what it's like to look at how much there is to be done and become overwhelmed to the point that it's easier to do none of it than to try and make it happen.

We know that we spend our weekends planning the week ahead and how incredibly frustrating it is to have any of those plans change.

But the hardest part still, is staying positive that your vision for your goal will eventuate, that even with the late night toiling, the juggling act of work, family, friends and side hustle, the sleep deprivation, the financial deprivation, the social desert, the frustrations taken out on loved ones, etc. Don't stop to believe in it and to work towards it. One day, you'll be sitting in your office, and you'll look around and realize that you have actually achieved your vision, that your business has launched successfully, that your career is exactly what you dreamed it to be.

  1.  Get used to forcing yourself to do things

By doing this over and over, you’re building your willpower and self-discipline. Forcing yourself to do things that you don’t feel like doing (but you know you should be doing) is a habit you can learn.

  1.  Seek inspiration everyday

No matter how intrinsically driven we are, we can easily lose our motivation if we don’t continue to seek it out. Look for inspiration, read books, articles, watch videos, and do things that reflect what and who I aspire to become. Everyone is different and you’re the only one who knows what suits you the most.

  1.  Focus on the emotional reward

When you’re on the fence of fear, doubt, laziness, and tiredness, you have to focus on the emotional reward you will get if you just push yourself a little bit more to jump over that fence. Make it a habit to focus on the emotional reward and it will become easier to make real change in your life.

  1.  Track your goals weekly and periodically

Tracking your goals is crucial. We hold ourselves accountable when we don’t achieve our goals. Failing to track our goals is the easiest way to let ourselves fall off track. If we can’t even tell our mind to commit to those goals, especially difficult goals, how are we going to accomplish them?

  1. Find someone to hold you accountable

Instead of tracking your goals yourself, you can ask someone to keep you on track with your goals. This can be a sibling, friend, partner, or even a professional such as a life coach or a personal trainer. They can be your source of motivation, and even better, inspiration. It is important to pick someone you believe in whom you know will kick your butt and will push your limit.

Even when it's so hard you just want to quit. Even when you're so frustrated, stick with it.

Stick to it. Get up every morning and make it happen.

See you again next week!
